Dear parent/carer,

During the course of this morning, a significant number of staff within our Senior Section have been asked to self isolate by PHE or the NHS test and trace app. Having reviewed the cover implications with Portsmouth City Council, the Governing Body and Senior Staff it is clear that we will need to move to a rota system for a number of weeks. During this time we will ask that specific year groups undertake learning from home on certain days. The rota for the rest of this week can be found below and we will confirm the rota for next week by 6:00pm on Friday 27th November:

Tuesday 24th November               Year 10 should not attend school and should access home learning

Wednesday 25th November         Year 9 should not attend school and should access home learning

Thursday 26th November             Year 8 should not attend school and should access home learning

Friday 27th November                   Year 7 should not attend school and should access home learning

Full details about our home learning offer, including how to access the ‘live teaching’ we are proposing to offer will be sent via SIMS Parent App.

We have been planning a number of contingencies such as the above over the last few months and believe we can offer effective home learning on the above dates. We are sorry for the disruption that the above rota may cause our pupils, families and community, but trust you understand that we can only run the school if staffing levels are adequate. Please note that any pupil who has been asked to self-isolate should continue to do so, irrespective of the above and children within our Primary Section are not currently impacted by this measure.

Please do take care of yourselves during these extraordinary times.

Best wishes,

David Jeapes
