SACRE Youth Voice Conference

On Thursday 13^th July ten Mayfield students from years 8 and 9 attended the Hampshire SACRE Youth Voice Conference. This year’s title was “Reality vs. The Media: Does the media stereotype religion?”.

Throughout the day they discussed this topic with students from other Hampshire schools and attended three workshops. The workshops really pushed the students, particularly one presented by a lecturer at Winchester University.

I was really proud of the way the students discussed this big question with students from other schools; with several of our pupils contributing ideas and questions to the main discussion in front of 70+ people.
