Portsmouth Festivities 'Play in a Day'

On Monday Mayfield hosted Portsmouth Festivities 'Play in a Day'. Six schools from across the city came together to devise an original piece of theatre based on the theme of 'play'. The pieces were then performed in the main hall making use of the newly installed lighting system funded by the Friends of Mayfield. All schools did fantastically well especially in the heat of Monday. I am particularly proud of our pupils, while the majority of Mayfield pupils were out on sports day 9 of our most committed pupils stayed back and worked in school until 8.30pm. Two of our year 11 pupils who finished their last exam on the Friday, were back in school on Monday to help out and operate our lights. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication our pupils have to our school. Thank you to all the schools who were involved and to the members of staff who supported us.
