At the STEM Big Bang Fair that Mr Jackson took twenty-four Year 9 students too, we recently heard that we won two major competitions, these run via companies that were presenting at the exhibition.
We have just heard that we have won a third competition too!

OPUS is a major national and international company that specialises in buildings, transport, and water and environmental issues in the UK. OPUS was also voted the ‘New Civil Engineer Company of the Year’ in 2016.

t the STEM Fair, OPUS staff ran a competition to build a ‘Da Vinci Bridge’, the task to do so in not only the quickest time, but also with the greatest span. I am delighted to announce that Theo Simpson and Freddie Gibbs not only designed and built a bridge composed of seven sets of girders, but they also beat the OPUS staff too!

Well done boys – another excellent win for our school, and another example of how creative and aspirational our scientists are.
