On Friday 21st October, ten of us went to the Guildhall to take part in the Great School Sprint. We left during period three and travelled there on the school mini bus were really excited but also nervous.

When we got to the Guildhall we were all given a race number that we had to pin onto our PE tops. Then we all went of to practice. After that we were all given tips on racing from Richard Kilty a GB Olympic athlete.

Soon after the warm up we were then competing against other schools to see who was fast enough to make it to the semi-finals and then progress onto the finals, where they would have a chance to compete for a place in Manchester. Grace and Tegan made it to the semi-finals and then Tegan progressed onto the finals and was beaten at the last second. Richard Kilty from Team GB then signed all our numbers as well as epipens, inhalers and trainers. The five girls were pleased to find out that as a team they came 3rd overall and were all presented with a bronze medal.

We then left to get back to school on the mini bus. On the mini bus we we all congratulating Tegan and Grace for making it to the semi-final/finals. the girls were amazed at how well they did, as they beat the boys!
