Southampton University Help Advise All Of Our IGNITE Students

On Monday, Mrs Caroline Tracey, Widening Participation Coordinator for the University of Southampton, came in to our school to talk to our most able students.

Before she started her first session with Year 7, together with Mr Jackson, she presented our new Year 7 IGNITErs with their IGNITE badges and congratulatory letter, thus enrolling them in to our IGNITE programme of support for the most able students in our school.

Mrs Tracey went on to run a drop-in session with our Year 11 students, then spent an hour each with our Year 8, 9 and 10 IGNITErs, giving them presentations about different aspects all linked with university-based studies, and the pathways one could choose to reach an ultimate career goal.

Mrs Tracey also held several Q+A sessions so as to answer the many questions our students had about many aspects of their potential future lives, careers, and subsequent educational routes and places to study, both in the UK and abroad.

We thank Mrs Tracey for her time with us, and look forward to meeting her again at the numerous events the University hold for our IGNITErs every year at the University campus in Southampton.
